Moringa powder in Australia: where things stand

Why we are not selling moringa powder right now

Moringa leaf is classed as a novel food in Australia, which means it needs approval before it can be sold as a food. Food Standards Australia New Zealand did not approve the application (A1294) in November 2025, and since March 2026 moringa leaf imported as a food has been held at the border under import notice IFN 05-26. That means it cannot currently be sold here as a food, so we stopped rather than work around it. This is about its approval status under food law. It is not a comment on any batch, and not a claim about what moringa does.

About moringa

Moringa is the dried, powdered leaf of Moringa oleifera, a fast-growing tree from South Asia. In the Philippines it is called malunggay. Read more in what is moringa and malunggay.
