Malunggay
Malunggay is the Filipino name for moringa, the leaves of the Moringa oleifera tree, and a familiar ingredient in Filipino home cooking.
Malunggay in Filipino cooking
Fresh malunggay leaves are stirred into soups and stews near the end of cooking. Tinola, a ginger chicken soup, is the best-known example. The leaves also go into monggo (mung bean stew), and some bakers add malunggay to pandesal.
